How a yard sale raised over Rs. 50,000 for children
Success Stories
MMB Cyber School, in partnership with Toudi (@toudi_basics), organised Donate with Purpose, a community-driven charity initiative with a Charity Yard Sale at its centre. It was held on 15 November 2025 and run by dedicated volunteers with the support of the wider community.
What we set out to do. We collected usable donated items, sorted them, and sold them at the yard sale. 100% of the proceeds went to a charity home in Mon District, to bring hope and practical help to the people who live there.
The result. The campaign raised over Rs. 50,000, and every rupee was passed on to the charity home. It also reached well beyond our local network, showing how far community generosity can travel.
What made it work (and how you can copy it)
- One clear, simple idea. “Give what you do not use, help a child.”
- A trusted partner. Working with Toudi widened the audience.
- Volunteers with clear roles. Collecting, sorting, pricing and selling all need someone responsible.
- A clear destination for the money. People give more freely when they know where it goes.
- A thank-you afterwards. Everyone who gave, helped or bought should hear that it mattered.
Small contributions, brought together, can create lasting value for a community.
