Lessons from States' Startup Ranking Framework (SRF) 5.0 and RAMP
Industry Updates
In March 2025 we supported two very different events within three weeks. The States’ Startup Ranking Framework 5.0 Knowledge Exchange Workshop (Kohima, 10-11 March 2025) brought together participants from 17 states, with panel discussions, fireside chats, stakeholder meetings and visits to incubation centres. The RAMP Nagaland workshop on Packaging, Branding and Marketing (Tetso College, Dimapur, 27-28 March) welcomed more than 100 entrepreneurs and stakeholders for practical sessions on personal branding, consumer engagement, sustainable packaging, digital marketing and influencer outreach. Both were organised with the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland.
Here is the checklist we use for events like these.
- Define one purpose. Decide what the event must achieve and how you will know it worked.
- Map your stakeholders. List the department or host, speakers, participants, venue, media and volunteers, and who speaks to each.
- Design the programme around the audience. Mix formats. A policy audience needs panels and fireside chats. A business audience needs hands-on modules.
- Make practical sessions send people home with something. A template, a checklist or a tool they can use the next morning.
- Settle logistics early. Venue, travel, stay, registration, signage and printing take longer than expected.
- Brand the event as one piece. Backdrops, name tags, slides, social media creatives and photography should look like they belong together.
- Give every team member and volunteer a clear role. At both events, our interns supported event management, stakeholder coordination, communication logistics, on-site branding, participant engagement and documentation.
- Document and follow up. Collect photos and video, write a short report, thank speakers and send a feedback form while the event is fresh.
