Rebranding

When to do it, and how not to lose your customers

Branding Strategies

A rebrand can renew a business or confuse it. The difference is in the reason and the rollout.

Signs it is time

  • Your business has changed (new products, a new audience, a new market), but your look still describes the old one.
  • Your logo, colours and tone look different on your sign, your website and your social media.
  • You hesitate before handing out your card or posting your page.

Signs it is not

  • You are simply bored of your logo.
  • You had one slow month.

A rebrand can renew a business or confuse it. The difference is in the reason and the rollout.

A rollout checklist

  1. Write the reason for the rebrand in one sentence.
  2. List what stays and what changes.
  3. Build simple brand guidelines: colours, fonts, logo use and tone of voice.
  4. Tell your customers first, with a message such as “same team, fresh look”.
  5. Update everything in one go: profile pictures, website, signage, invoices, packaging and email signatures.
  6. Stay consistent afterwards. As our 2025-26 opening note puts it, “When a brand speaks consistently, it begins to feel familiar. And familiarity slowly grows into trust.”

From our work: Local search and reputation are part of the digital marketing we do for clients. For Merryland Park we worked on content SEO and online reputation management, and for Toudi on SEO as part of a long-term branding and digital marketing collaboration.
