Google Business Profile

Why every business needs it?

Digital Marketing Insights

When someone searches for your business name, or for something like “bakery near me”, Google can show a free profile with your address, phone number, opening hours, photos, reviews and directions. If that profile is missing or out of date, customers go to the next result.

Set it up in ten steps

  1. Search for “Google Business Profile” and sign in with a Google account that you will keep long-term.
  2. Enter your business name exactly as it appears on your signboard.
  3. Choose your main category carefully. It affects the searches you appear in.
  4. Add your address, or your service area if you travel to customers, and your phone number.
  5. Add opening hours, and update them for festivals and holidays.
  6. Verify your business. Google offers different verification options depending on your business, so follow the one it shows you.
  7. Add clear photos: the storefront, the inside, your products and your team.
  8. Ask happy customers to leave a review.
  9. Reply to every review, kindly, including the critical ones.
  10. Post updates about offers and events, and check the profile every month.

Common mistakes: a business name stuffed with keywords, old phone numbers, no photos, and reviews left unanswered.

Local search and reputation are part of the digital marketing we do for clients.
